Our Response to COVID-19

As our state continues to open up…. We must remember that seniors and individuals with underlying conditions are still vulnerable and at high-risk for COVID-19. At the same time, we understand that we must continue to provide safe high-quality care. Please read on to learn about how we are ensuring safety in the workplace and in your home.

How we are keeping our employees and clients safe:

Office Procedures:

  • Every employee and visitor must wear a mask at all times while in our facility
  • Office employees have daily temperature checks
  • Office employees are working more than 6 feet apart to comply with social distancing
  • Office employees have their own supplies to reduce the sharing of germs while sharing supplies
  • Visitors and applicants are scheduled to avoid crowding
  • Hand sanitizing station is set up next to the entrance
  • Office is sanitized in the morning and at end of the day
  • High-touch areas such as door knobs and light switches are disinfected throughout the day

Field Staff Procedures:

  • Home Health Aides are educated on Infection Prevention, Standard Precautions, and COVID-19 precautions and symptoms
  • Aides are screened for COVID-19 Symptoms and possible contact
  • Aides are supplied with masks, gloves, gowns, hand sanitizers, and face shields
  • AIdes are assigned to one client to limit contact with client
  • We are actively recruiting and/or training local care professionals to reduce the exposure on public transportation

Client Safety:

  • We will assign all of the client’s hours to ONE aide to avoid multiple aides entering home
  • Our RN and aides will monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and case conference with doctor if necessary
  • Our aides will focus on maintaining a clean and sanitary environment at home
  • Our aides will assist with grocery shopping to reduce high exposure for client
Lastly, NJ Home Health Care is working with Urban Pledge, our non-profit organization, to ensure that social distancing does not turn into social isolation. Urban Pledge is providing weekly social calls to our clients to support their mental health by providing emotional connections. Urban Pledge is also assisting our clients with any basic need they may lack and helping them connect with other community resources.
